~Anna’s pov~

“What’s this bandage on your shoulder?” Simon asked as he noticed the bandage.

“A wolf bite.” I said without mincing words. He scowled, and looked at it.

“Who treated you?” He asked looking at me suspiciously.

“A_ doctor” I lied but am not pretty good at lying.

“There’s no hospital or doctor around.” He said and I slammed my forehead.

“A friend.” I blurted

“Boy or girl?”

“Boy” I said and he frowned. That’s my brother, He’s suspicious of everyone.

“So you have a boyfriend?” He asked.

“No..not really. He’s just a normal friend.” I stuttered.

“Hmm, invite him here tomorrow, this city is not trusted, you ought not to have a friend. Some may act nice, but they are wolves.”

“Wolves?” I blustered.

“Yeah, some of the wolves you see around are not real wolves. They are humans. But are capable of turning into wolves.” Simon lamented.

“Such things only happens in movie.” I stated.

“Not only movies, yellow stone is a dangerous place, most of the humans you see, are not real human.” “Have you heard of Vampire Wolves.” He asked and I shook my head negatively.

“Well, that’s what they are called. So your friend might be one.”

I pondered over it for a while. Yeah right.

“How do you know all this?”

“In our training, we study much about vampire animals who come in human form to kill the normal humans.”

“How can you know who is a vampire wolf and who isn’t?” I probed again.

“Most of them have two scars on their neck.” Simon articulated.

My heart raced.

“Do your friend have the scar.” He asked. I looked at him straight in his eyes and said.

“Max isn’t a vampire wolf, or whatever you call it. I’ll bring him here tomorrow and you’ll see him yourself.” I declared.

Simon escorted me to school. Trust me, when I say, I felt secured with him.

I bade him goodbye As I entered the school.

Silently, I prayed fervently for Max to be in school today.

And God smiled at me, cause immediately, I entered the class, he was the first person I saw.

He’s face was as usual, Angry and furious.

I stood in front of the class and stared at him.

“Get out of the way you nerd.” Jake; the class bully, yelled.

“Can’t you try to be polite for once.” I said politely.

“Are you talking to me?” He stood up angrily, he looks intimidating with his Axe head and dreadful eyes.

He stormed towards me and held my hair and dragged it.

I winced in pain while the class roared in laughter.

I looked at Max for help but he wasn’t even looking at me.

Same goes to Alex.

“Stop Jake…is painful.” I cried.

“Stop Jake…is painful.” He mimicked my words and the class laughed again.

He released my hair and pushed me to the wall.

“Next time, don’t talk back at me. Understood?” He asked and I nodded vigorously.

Then he looked at my face, down to my chest.

“Your boops are getting bigger.” He teased and the class laughed again.

He started pulling off my button.

“Stop it Jake?”, I cried out but he shut me up with deafening slap.

My eyes spun around. The slap was loud enough to wake a dead man in the arctic.

And why my eyes spun, I caught MAX looking at me, in a manner I don’t understand.

Jake pulled me up forcefully and pinned me to the wall again. He unbuttoned my shirt and tore my bra front of everyone.

The whole class brought out their phones and started taking pictures.

My breasts were exposed.

I couldn’t cry or say a word.

Jake looked at it with a smirk and gripped it firmly making me wail aloud.

He grinned and pressed it again.

“STOP IT” two voices ordered at the same time at the back.

Eyes turned back, and everyone gasped.

Max on the left, Alex on the right. They stood in their seats looking furious as ever.

I took my bag and quickly covered my breast while still crying.

“Oh, look, who wants to challenge, this two kids.” Jake teased.

“Don’t touch her again!” The voice said. This time, it was only MAX who spoke.

Alex calmed down and sat on his seat, he slammed his hands Then bow his head on the desk.

Max stood still glaring at Jake with red eyes.

Then Jake took it as a challenge and he slapped me again.

This time, Max fled like a hurricane and stomped on Jake.

The class jeered as the fight escalated. No one knew what was happening.

“Max stop!!!” I yelled and The fight ended abruptly.

Max stood up and dusted himself. Jake staggered upwards and blood dripped from his neck.

He had a wound.

More like a bite. A deep bite.

“Class jeered at him and he spoke.

I had this wound before I started the fight, so don’t get too excited.” Jake spat out as more blood dripped.

Max came over to me and pulled off his jacket. He wore it on me and held my hands.

Together, we walked to the seat.

“Am sorry I didn’t intervene in time.” Max mumbled with a voice, clouded with guilt.

“No need to apologise, thanks for saving me.” I muttered and he nodded. I looked back at Alex.

He was looking at me blankly. I smiled to hide the embarrassment.

Tears slicked down my eyes.

“What’s wrong?” Max asked magnanimously.

Today is the most shameful day of my life. The whole class saw my boobs.

And also took pictures of it.

Max held me close and patted me.

“Can we be friends?” He asked.

“Just friends?” I said, expecting something else.

“Yeah…” He said and I faked a smile.

I was really expecting ‘can you be my girlfriend?.’

“Ok..sure.”

I said and he grinned.

“And you’ll accompany me home today.” I blurted.

“Sure.”

“My brother wants to see you.” I said and his little smile twisted into a frown.

“Why?”

“Uhmm..He just wants to see you.” I muttered.

“Okay…” He shrugged.

(Lunch Break).

I sat in the cafeteria eating burger. Today is just so great. Max is being kind.

Finally I’ll prove to those sluts in the class, that am capable of having a boyfriend.

I finished eating the burger and I drank my juice. I belch loudly and the few students who were closer, “Yacked.” I ignored them and stood up.

I walked back to the class and it was empty. Not empty though, two people were inside, having a hot argument.

There back was to me. I hid at the exterior of the doorway and eaves drop.

“Who are you?” The first voice fired. And that voice seems to be Max’.

“Am Alex.” Came the second voice.

“To hell, I know you’re Alex. But tell me, who really are you?” Max fired.

Who really are you?

The English sounds somehow.

“Look Max, stop all this. I don’t understand the question…Am supposed to be asking you that cause you’re no difference from a VA (mpire wolf). The words remained silent. The only thing I heard was the ‘VA’.

Complete it Alex,’ I said in my mind as I shut my eyes to absolve the words.

Then I opened my eyes and spot the two, looking at me.

“Hi Ann.” Alex forced a smile.

“H…” I was about saying when I heard screams from student outside.

“Jake is dead!” Someone exclaimed and my eyes popped out.

Alex and Max exchanged glares.

“He’s killed by a panther, I saw the scene with my very eyes.” A gaunt looking girl exclaimed.

“A PANTHER!!!!!” We all yelled in shock.

I glared at Max cause I suspected him. Anyone who made him angry end up being killed by a Wolf….or Panther.

He seems puzzled and bewildered.

“A panther?” He repeated the words.

Then the police invaded the school.

My brother, was leading them. And they were actually coming towards us.
