“Anna are you okay.” Simon said as he started walking to the door. I looked at the wolf, then at Simon.

“Am …a…m…am f..fi…fine” I stammered. He looked at me suspiciously and started walking faster.

I looked back at the wolf and tried to shoo it away but it made no attempt to move.

I quickly close the door. “Whats out there?” Simon asked as he made to open the door.

“No…nothing.” I said fearfully.

He quickly pushed me out of the way and opened the door.

Oh no…

“There’s nothing here.” He said as he looked around.

I turned and looked. The wolf is no more there.

“Bro Simon…” Isabel and Marabel waved.

Simon smiled and waved back.

“Can’t we go on a walk.” They said with impish smile.

It seems they are flirting with Simon. Isn’t it weird. Flirting with your step brother.

And it seems, Simon is even attracted to them.

I watched as Simon left with ‘them’. I blew out a breath, what a relief.

Then the wolf came back. This time, it seems he’s at the verge of death. It wasn’t able to walk well.

It looked at me in a pleading way.

I was confused for a while, but the wolf once saved my life. Maybe I can save his life too.

I came out of the house, and led the wolf to the abandoned car garage.

“Stay here and don’t move.” I ordered and it whined.

So pathetic.

I walked back into the house, to bring the first aid box.

Here I am…unable to change back to human. I thought I can defeat all animals, not until I fought with the panther.

I was beaten mercilessly and I ran.

With nowhere to go. I know Ann is my last hope.

I might even die anytime from now.

I laid in the garage panting heavily, when I saw the panther again…coming into the garage.

I stood up and my tail hair became erect.

I moved back slowly.

My heart leapt into my throat.

Then Anna came. The panther ran.

“Hey wolf, I don’t really know what’s wrong but you seems like you might die sooner. So where should I bury you if you die.” Anna said and I growled angrily.

She laughed and say.

“Just teasing…if You happen to survive you’ll be my pet wolf.”

If am a human I would have scoffed at the ludicrous remark.

“How can you take a wolf as a pet.” Kyra interjected as she came behind. Anna flinched and relaxed.

“Kyra.. you are here.” Anna said in amazement.

I growled angrily. Am having the hunch that she’s the panther but am only 50% sure.

“What are you doing with a wolf?” She asked, feigning surprise.

“Am treating it…can You help.” Ann asked her and she smiled.

“Sure.” She took the first aid box from Ann.

Then she looked directly at me, and smirked. With great force, she stabbed me an injection at my back. I growled loudly.

“What’s wrong.” Ann intervened.

“It’s scared of injection.” Kyra lied.

Ann looked at me and patted me. “C’mon wolf…it won’t be painful. Be strong.”

Then Kyra smirked and gently pierce the injection in my thick skin. When Ann wasn’t looking, she would remove the injection and stab it with force.

“The wolf is catching cold…set a fire.” Kyra blurted.

“Oh..I almost forgot.” Ann said and rushed out to start gathering sticks.

Like seriously… Fire…

“Am sorry Max… but am doing it as a payback.” She smirked.

I growled aloud.

‘by killing my grandma.’ I wanted to talk but I can’t.

Then Ann came back with sticks. I tried giving her signs not to light the fire, but I can’t.

“The wolf must be hungry?” Kyra suggested and winked at me.

“Oh..but what do wolves eat.” Anna asked.

Stupid question.

Which human in his right sense, won’t know the diet of a wolf.

“Wolf loves Noodles.” Kyra said and I grunted.

Noodles?

And the foolish Ann is believing her.

School the next day was eventful. A new girl came in the class.

And she’s no other person than Kyra. She looks stunning with her long lashes and hair.

Boys in the class couldn’t stop drooling.

Alex walked into the class and stopped as he saw Kyra. They exchanged glare, and Alex shrugged and walked to my seat.

“Why is your friend not in school?” Alex asked.

“You mean, Max.”

“Yeah.”

“Don’t know…maybe he’s sick.” I guessed.

Then it dawned on me.

“Alex, do you remember that wolf you fought with?” I asked. He looked at me.

“Yea…what’s wrong?”

“The wolf came to my house yesterday and it was at the verge of death.” I said.

“Oh…poor Max.” Alex said absent-mindedly.

“I didn’t say Max. I said a wolf.” I ventured.

“Ohh…poor Wolf.” Alex said.

I rolled my eyes at him. “You are still thinking Max is a wolf.” I retort and he shrugged.

“Maybe.”

Then a teacher walked in.

The new English teacher, more vehement than the previous.

He looked at kyra.

“Your name?” He asked sternly.

“Kyra.”

“Surname?”

“None.”

“Kyra None…The name sounds odd.” He said and Kyra rolled her eyes.

“I don’t have a surname.”

“Oh..I see, daughter of an Anonymous…your mum must be a whore.” The teacher said with a sardonic smile.

All English teachers are always annoying.

“I guess you are one of my mum’s potential clients.” Kyra fired.

But it seems, the teacher us those type who loves exchanging words.

“No… your mum is cheap… I deal with real whores not the cheap ones.” He fired and the class laughed.

“You deal with real ones like your mum?” Kyra probed. The teacher was flushed for a while.

Then he said.

“Too bad, my mum is too decent to be a prostitute.” The man fired and class laughed again.

“God bless decent people with good children. If your mum is decent why did she gave birth to a repugnant creature like you.” Kyra wasn’t ready to give up.

The teacher angrily told her to get up and follow him.

I felt for Kyra. She’ll be punished just the first day of school.

Not up to five minutes, Kyra walked back to the class without the least sign of stress in her face.

Then, we heard about the death of the teacher.

“What is really happening…The death rate is increasing rapidly.” I said to myself.

I reached home that day and the wolf rushed out of his hiding place and jumped on my body.

At first, I thought, it wanted to kill me.

But, I discovered that, it’s showing a sign of appreciation for my relentless effort in making him alive.

I played with it for a while. And then walked to the house. The wolf followed me. Thank goodness, no one is around.

My step mom, kept food for me in the table.

So strange. I opened the food and my nose sniffled at the sumptuous meal.

The wolf was looking intently at me, as if trying to talk to me.

I ignored it and took the spoon. The wolf dragged the spoon from me.

And used his nose to push the food to the floor.

Oh

No.

My food.

“You rascal wolf…” I cursed as I took a stick. It ran out of the house. And I couldn’t help but cry.

I packed Sat on the floor and used my hands to pack the food.

Just when I was about eating. The wolf rushed in and quickly turned into….a …..human….which….happens….to ……be………MAX.

“Don’t eat it…it’s poisoned.” He yelled.

But, it’s too late. I’ve gulped down a handful.

Then I slumbered into a haze of exhaustion.

Vision fades away and life sucks out….
